University of Tartu Academic Sports Club HOUSE RULES
1. General house rules (applies to entire premises)
1.1. University of Tartu sports buildings are open to users (Sports Club athletes, young athletes, physical education students, purchasers of a service etc.) during the specified opening times. Information about the opening times of sports buildings and facilities can be accessed on the Sports Club website, sought from administrators or found on the signs at the front entrance.
1.2. A user of University of Tartu sports buildings and facilities is obliged to:
1.2.1. comply with the house rules and regulations of service. In the event of ignoring the house rules, the Sports Club has the right to cancel a pass and not provide a refund for any unused services;
1.2.2. maintain cleanliness and order in all sports buildings and facilities and on the premises;
1.2.3. always use exercise equipment and items sensibly and make sure they are always returned to their place. Equipment may not be taken outside of the training halls (to be used in another room or location);
1.2.4. immediately notify administrators of faulty and/or broken equipment or Sports Club property;
1.2.5. compensate any damage done to the Sports Club and/or third parties;
1.2.6. be in the sports rooms in clean and appropriate indoor footwear. It is not permitted to go barefoot or with the upper body exposed;
1.2.7. obey the instructions of the administrators and other Sports Club staff and immediately respond to any remarks made. Any questions should be addressed to an administrator;
1.2.8. return the chip and/or key after training or studying. Taking the key and/or chip off the premises is not allowed. In the event of losing the key and/or chip, damage according to the price list must be compensated;
1.2.9. use only the dedicated changing rooms for dressing and washing;
1.2.10. be respectful towards fellow Sports Club users and make sure that your actions or lack thereof do not disturb others;
1.2.11. keep to the using times of sports halls and facilities meant for training and studying and only use them according to their purpose;
1.2.12. use only appropriate doors to enter and leave rooms. Using emergency exits is only permitted in emergencies. In the event of damage to security sensors, this must be compensated;
1.2.13. not enter the sports building with pets or bicycles;
1.2.14. observe general safety rules in regard to yourself and other users.
1.3. It is prohibited to:
1.3.1. smoke or use narcotics or alcohol;
1.3.2. consume food and drinks brought in from outside (except for water and sports drinks that are in special sports drinks bottles) or bring in glass bottles or other easily breakable and dangerous objects;
1.3.3. trade in products and services if the Sports Club has not granted such a right in the form of a contract;
1.3.4. film or take pictures without the special permission of the management board of the Sports Club (with the exception of public events).
I.5. The University of Tartu Academic Sports Club car park is only to be used by visitors to the Sports Club between 6:00 and 23:00 Monday to Sunday (with the exception of staff and service transport). The Sports Club has the right to have cars removed and to ask the owners of the cars to compensate the cost of removal. Stopping or parking cars in front of the main entrance is not allowed and valid Estonian traffic regulations are to be followed when driving on the premises.
2. House rules of athletics hall
2.1. During training, studying and competitions, spectators and other people may only be in the tribunes.
2.2. The representative of the user, instructor or trainer must make sure that everyone taking part in the training group is wearing appropriate, clean footwear.
2.3. It is prohibited to wear track shoes outside of the tartan-covered area of the athletics hall. The maximum allowed length of spikes on track shoes is 6 mm.
2.4. Using the jumping and hurling sectors of the athletics hall is only allowed for competitions or practical learning and training of the appropriate sports as part of a previous booking made with the customer service manager.
2.5. Being in the area of the climbing wall in the athletics hall is prohibited outside of the training times for alpinism and rock climbing.
2.6. In the athletics hall, crossing the running and jumping tracks is not allowed. Speed tests must be done from the start line to the finish line.
2.7. The inner track of the 200-metre track may only be used for training, not warm-up or cool-down running.
2.8. The start of the 60-metre track may only be used for training with the permission of an employee of the hall. Starts must only be practised from the appropriate start line.
2.9. Warm-up and cool-down runs are only done outside the main arena, i.e. outside of the 200-metre track.
2.10. After using the long-jump and triple-jump boxes, the sand must be swept back into the box and the box covered.
2.11. High-jump and pole-vault mats must be covered after use (if there is a cover).
2.12. Pole-vault poles must be used with an original plastic or rubber end that does not stain the tartan cover. If one is not available, the user must cover it with a material that does not stain the tartan cover.
2.13. Throwing exercises may only be performed in the shot-put sector, throwing corner or against the stuffed ball wall, keeping to the safety measures considering yourself, fellow trainees and Sports Club property.
2.14. Throwing exercises (including javelin) may not be performed in track shoes.
2.15. Use of talcum powder is only allowed when using a special dish. In the event of talcum powder getting on the tartan, it must be removed immediately.
2.16. The performer of the exercise must ensure safety in the training sector and the area around it.
2.17. Performing exercises with stuffed balls in the athletics arena is prohibited unless a time has been booked previously and it does not disturb others.
2.18. The security barrier of the running tracks must not be used for gymnastics or stretching exercises and warming up must not disturb other users of the athletics hall.
2.19. The training area must be tidied after the training session has ended.
2.20. The user, instructor or event organiser is responsible for the use and return of equipment taken from the equipment room. Using competition equipment for studying and training is prohibited.
2.21. After the study or training session or competition has ended, the equipment must be returned to its place.
2.22. Using lighting and electronic training systems is allowed when booked in advance with the customer service manager.
2.23. Training at the same time as competitions in the hall must be agreed in advance with the event organiser and/or the customer service manager.
3. House rules for fitness studio and lifting hall
3.1. The trainer and user of the fitness studio are responsible for the use and condition of the equipment in the fitness studio and lifting hall.
3.2. Users of the fitness and lifting hall are obliged to:
3.2.1. use the fitness and lifting hall only for appropriate training;
3.2.2. share equipment with other users and if needed, agree upon use with the current user of the equipment. The maximum consecutive time of use of cardio equipment is 30 minutes;
3.2.3. use protection when lifting maximum weights if there is a danger of failure and damaging your health or the equipment;
3.2.4. return used equipment to its place at the end of the training session;
3.2.5. put used equipment back in its place, including not leaving weights on the bar;
3.2.6. clean the exercise devices and equipment with a disinfectant and paper towel at the end of the training session.
3.3. Taking equipment from the fitness hall for use in other rooms of the sports hall is only allowed when agreed upon with the fitness manager.
4. House rules for ball game halls
4.1. Ball game halls may only be entered via the appropriate doors and moving between halls must not disturb the activity in the other halls.
4.2. The representative of the user, instructor of trainer is responsible for making sure that everyone in the training group is wearing clean shoes with soles that do not stain the floor.
4.3. The trainer or user of the ball game hall is responsible for the use and condition of the equipment in the ball game halls.
5. House rules for aerobics hall
5.1. Users of the aerobics hall are obliged to:
5.1.1. use the aerobics hall only for appropriate training or studying with the supervision of an instructor or trainer;
5.1.2. keep to training times. A trainer has the right not to allow a client to join a class if they are late;
5.1.3. clean any equipment with a disinfectant and paper towel after the training session has ended or use their own clean towel during training.
5.2. The user, representative of a user, instructor or trainer must make sure that everyone taking part in the training group is wearing clean, appropriate footwear.
5.3. Taking equipment out of the aerobics hall without the permission of the fitness manager is not allowed.
5.4. The trainer and/or user of the hall is responsible for the use and condition of the equipment in the hall.
5.5. The user is obliged to use sound equipment in the aerobics hall according the prior instructions of the fitness manager or sound technician
6. House rules for boxing hall
6.1. Users of the boxing hall are obliged to:
6.1.1. use the boxing hall only for appropriate training or studying activities with the supervision of an instructor or trainer;
6.1.2. hit punching bags only in the direction of the movement of the bag;
6.1.3. clean up any blood immediately.
6.2. In the boxing hall it is prohibited to:
6.2.1. kick punching bags;
6.2.2. spit on the ground (there are special spit bowls for this);
6.2.3. go to the fitness hall via the emergency exit door (i.e. the glass door between the fitness hall and boxing hall).
6.3. Avoid leaning on the ropes in the boxing ring.
6.4. The trainer and/or user of the hall is responsible for the use and condition of the equipment in the hall.
6.5. Using competition equipment for studying and training is prohibited.
6.6. The user, user’s representative, instructor or trainer must make sure that everyone in the training group is wearing clean, appropriate footwear with soles that do not stain the floor.
7. House rules for rowing machine area
7.1. Users of the rowing machines are obliged to:
7.1.1. use the machines only for appropriate training;
7.1.2. share the machines with other people in the hall;
7.1.3. after the training session ends, clean the machines with a disinfectant and paper towel.
7.2. The user, user’s representative, instructor or trainer is responsible for everyone in the training group wearing clean footwear.
7.3. Moving and removing the rowing machines is prohibited.
7.4. The user or trainer is responsible for the use and condition of the rowing machines in the rowing machine area.
8. House rules for small training group and table tennis hall
8.1. Users of the hall are obliged to:
8.1.1. put used table tennis tables back together at the end of the training session and return them to the back corner of the hall;
8.1.2. return used group training equipment to its place;
8.1.3. clean used mats with the appropriate solution.
8.2. The user’s representative, instructor or trainer is responsible for everyone in the training group wearing clean, appropriate footwear.
8.3. The trainer and user are responsible for the use and condition of the equipment in the hall.
9. House rules for stadium
9.1. The stadium must be entered through the stadium building, presenting the administrator with:
9.1.1. a Sports Club card:
9.1.2. and/or information about the use of the room.
9.2. Paid services connected to use of the stadium must be paid for to the administrator at Ujula 4.
9.3. Training equipment is issued by the stadium administrator or master to professional trainers or athletes according to a list. The name and amount of the equipment and the name of the user are recorded.
9.4. After use, any equipment (shots, javelins, discs, starting markers, measurement tapes, signs etc.) must be cleaned and returned to the equipment room with the supervision of the administrator or master. Their return is recorded.
9.5. Hurdles must be grouped together and returned to their place on the outer edge of the track.
9.6. Training boxes must be used for long-jump and triple-jump training. The competition box in front of the tribune is for competitions only.
9.7. After long-jump and triple-jump training, the long-jump box must be cleaned and covered with a cover and the shovel and rake must be returned to the equipment room.
9.8. High-jump and pole-vault mats are to be used only for high-jump and pole-vault training. Any other activities on the mats are prohibited.
9.9. After high-jump and pole-vault training, the mats must be covered with a rain cover and the pole must be returned to the equipment room.
9.10. The running tracks in the stadium must be used as follows:
- track 8 (the outermost track) for warm-up running;
- tracks 5-7 for hurdles training;
- tracks 3-4 for sprint training;
- track 2 for long-distance running training;
- track 1 (the innermost track) is only for competitions or section training.
9.11. Putting the shot on the grass is only allowed during shot-put competitions.
9.12. Hammer throwing training must be done on the practice field.
9.13. Holes or depressions in the grass caused by a javelin, disc or hammer landing must be filled in and smoothed out.
9.14. For safety reasons make sure that there is no one in the sector when performing throws. Also keep in mind safety rules to ensure safety for yourself, fellow trainees and Sports Club property.
9.15. During competitions, training in the back straight of the stadium may only be done upon previous agreement with the event manager or customer service manager.
9.16. The administrator of the stadium must be immediately notified of equipment malfunctions, hooliganism etc.
9.17. Belongings left on the stadium premises are not guarded and the Sports Club is not responsible for them. There is the option of using lockers and storage shelves.
9.18. Wearing track shoes is not allowed in the stadium building.
9.19. It is prohibited to ride a bike, skateboard or rollerblade in the stadium.
10. House rules for Ujula 4 play area
10.1. The play area:
10.1.1. is designed solely for the children (ages 2-6) of clients with a Sports Club pass;
10.1.2. accommodates 10 children at any one time;
10.1.3. accommodates a maximum of 4 children in its climbing corner at any one time;
10.1.4. does not permit climbing and leaning on its fence;
10.1.5. opening times can be found on the Sports Club website and signs in the play area;
10.1.6. during its opening hours is monitored by a supervisor, who keeps an eye on the children playing there.
10.2. A parent who leaves their child to play in the play area must ensure that:
10.2.1. their child is healthy;
10.2.2. no food or drink is brought into the play area;
10.2.3. the play area is entered in socks only and with no outdoor clothing;
10.2.4. their child is familiar with the rules of the play area;
10.2.5. the instructions of the play area supervisor are followed;
10.2.6. things in the play area are not removed or deliberately broken.
10.3. Please make sure that:
10.3.1. when coming to the play area, your child’s clothes do not have any strings or other dangling features;
10.3.2. your child has been to the toilet before coming to the play area.
